The course content includes written or emailed material, links to videos, handling, examination, grooming information, basic obedience training (name recognition, focus, sit, down, recall, lead work), games-based training for concept development, toilet training information, management of basic behavior concerns, off-lead socialization, habituating dogs to the vet, basic TTouch explanation, and groundwork for confidence and fun. Clicker/mark and reward training are also explained and encouraged, but not compulsory, and a clicker is supplied.

Rose's Puppy School has been operating for 22 years and takes place in a garden with shaded areas and shelter in case of rain. The school has received support from local vets in the Helderberg area. The instructor has a background in veterinary nursing, Schutzhund (dog working trials) at the national level, breeding, and running a dog club. She has also completed various training courses and is a member of the ThinkingPets Guild SA and the Pet Professional Guild.
