About Us
Established in 2003, Wollies Animal Shelter started with a focus on sterilization and expanded to assist abandoned and abused animals. We’re a self-funded, pro-life non-profit, providing a loving home for cats and dogs until they find their forever families. We believe in the importance of affordable sterilization to reduce animal suffering.
From January to August 2023:
- Dogs/Puppies: 566 adopted out of 1,004 in our care.
- Cats/Kittens: 116 adopted out of 650 in our care.
With winter approaching, consider adopting a furry friend to provide warmth and love. Visit us to find your perfect companion.

We need financial help to maintain our shelter. Our monthly veterinary bill exceeds R100,000, covering sterilizations, vaccinations, deworming, and other medical expenses. With over 1,000 animals and only 22 staff members, your support is vital. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers and community supporters who keep us going for the past 9 years.

Get Involved
ADOPT-Meet our 1000+ dogs and cats, select your favorite, complete an adoption form at our office, and we'll arrange a home visit. Our adoption fee covers essential care, and thank you for considering adoption.

VOLUNTEER-Visit us any day except Wednesdays and Sundays. We have many animals to care for, including dogs, cats, and donkeys. from 9:00 to 17:00, except Wednesdays when we're closed, and Sundays from 9:00 to 12:00.
TEAM BUILDING-Join us for team building at Wollies by proposing a project that enhances the lives of our animals, as we value the collective effort and support of volunteers and companies in our mission.
